The Facebook Footer description?

A to Z Brief History of Facebook

Facebook’s rise to prominence on the Internet has been meteoric. At the time of this writing, Facebook has more than 500 million members around the world and is still growing by leaps and bounds. Launched in February 2004 by Mark  Zuckerberg, then a student at Harvard University, Facebook took its name from the printed directories known as “face books” that students were given to help match their classmates’ names with their faces. (The various controversies about

Facebook’s beginnings, and ensuing court battles, have been covered thoroughly by other books and at least one blockbuster film, so I won’t rehash those here.)  The original idea for Facebook was to build an online, interactive version of a traditional face book, which would allow students to create, personalize, and update their own profiles. Another key idea was that Facebook’s members would use their real names, and their identities would be verified by virtue of the fact that their profiles were linked to school-issued e-mail addresses. Unlike MySpace and other popular networking Web sites, no pseudonyms, aliases, or fake names would be allowed on Facebook, thus making its members accountable for how they

behaved. Facebook’s membership was originally limited to Harvard, but the site proved so popular there that it was

quickly expanded to other universities and colleges, and  then high schools, and then workplaces. The biggest turning point, however, came in September 2006 when Facebook dropped the requirement for a school- or work-issued e-mail account, effectively opening its doors to anyone older than 13 with a working e-mail address. By July 2007, nearly half of Facebook’s

users were 35 and older, as parents and grandparents joined teenagers and college kids on its rolls. These days, according to Internet marketing research company comScore, Facebook has the most site traffic of any social media site in the world.

The Blue Bar of social networking site facebook

Running across the top of every page on Facebook is the same bright blue bar, cleverly known as “the blue bar.” It will be your faithful companion for all your journeys on Facebook, more loyal than Tonto, Robin, or even
Dr. Bunsen Honeydew’s faithful lab assistant, Beaker.

The three icons in the blue bar, from left to right: Friend Requests, Messages, and Notifications. All three light up with numbers in little red balloons to let you know how many new friend requests, messages, or notifications you’ve received since the last time you checked. Click on them to open their pop-up menus for more details.

The links in the blue bar help you navigate your way around Facebook.

n Facebook and Home take you to your Home page on Facebook.

n Click on the Friend Requests icon to open a pop-up menu that shows you the most recent friend requests and friend suggestions you’ve received.

n Click on the Messages icon to open a pop-up menu that shows you summaries of the newest messages you’ve received in your Inbox.

n Click on the Notifications icon to see your latest notifications—short messages that let you know when something has happened that Facebook thinks you should know about, such as a friend writing on your Wall or commenting on something you’ve posted.

n Toward the middle of the blue bar is Facebook’s search field. You can use this to find all sorts of things on Facebook: people, Groups, Events, Pages, apps, and more. You can even use it to search for results on the web.

n Profile takes you to your Profile page.

n Clicking on Account opens a menu that lets you access your account settings, privacy settings, and other account management tools. It’s also where you’ll find the command to log out of Facebook when you need to.

The Anatomy of Facebook

Until you actually join Facebook and play with it a little, it can be hard to figure out what’s so appealing about it. Some stories in the media make it sound like the hottest hipster fad since the invention of the black turtleneck, while others portray it as a cross between an opium den and a shark-infested lagoon. Why Does This YouTube Video Have 211 Million Views? [nugglepurl]

Looking at YouTube’s most-viewed videos of all time today reveals an odd intruder. A five-minute music video named “Lady Gaga - Bad Romance” tops the list with 211,501,603 views.

The video was posted by YouTube user VEVO, but nothing on her profile (if you’re able to endure the awful choice of colors that will make your eyes bleed) indicates how this trick (or hack) was pulled. Other videos she had posted only have a couple hundred clicks.

10 Ways to Increase Your Site Crawl Rate

Regular and frequent visits by the crawler is the first sign that your site appeals to Google. Thus the most efficient way to get frequent and deep crawls is to develop a website that search engines see as important and valuable.
Note that you can’t force Googlebot to visit you more often – what you can do is to invite it to come. Possible measures to take to increase the crawl rate may include:

1. Update your content often and regularly (and ping Google once you do) – well, an obvious one, so not much to describe here; in a word, try to add new unique content as often as you can afford and do it regularly (3 times a week can be the best solution if you can’t update your site daily and are looking for the optimal update rate).
2. Make sure your server works correctly: mind the uptime and Google Webmaster tools reports of the unreached pages. Two tools I can recommend here are Pingdom and Mon.itor.us.
3. Mind your page load time: note that the crawl works on a budget – if it spends too much time crawling your huge images or PDFs, there will be no time left to visit your other pages.
4. Check the site internal link structure: make sure there is no duplicate content returned via different URLs: again, the more time the crawler spends figuring your duplicate content, the fewer useful and unique pages it will manage to visit.
5. Get more back links from regularly crawled sites.
6. Adjust the crawl speed via Google Webmaster tools.
7. Add a sitemap (though it’s up for a debate whether the sitemap can help with crawling and indexing issues, many webmasters report they have seen increased crawl rate after adding it).
8. Make sure your server returns the correct header response. Does it handle your error pages properly? Don’t make the bot figure out what has happened: explain it clearly.
9. Make sure you have unique title and meta tags for each of your pages.

Since i Banned by Google Adsense i have no income, that’s why I am looking for something like adsense, luckily i found Adbrite, us of now i just experimenting adbrite, if you have tips about google adsense or adbrite, just leave your shotout or comments , thank you very much readers...

I want to make a quick review between Adsense and Adbrite.

1. Adsense does not accept Casino, adult and Viagra sites. Adbrite does.
2. If you have a site which is high traffic like Humour where adsense your earnings is low, with adbrite your earnings will be great. Good examples: Big-Boys.com with Over 490,000 Unique visitors and FriendSter.com with Over 620,000, Unique visitors. Those two sites are a low earning with Adsense (proved) but with adbrite their earnings are thousands of dollars per month (may be per day!)
3. Customer care, I will not say that Google Adsense does not have a good customer care, but adbrite is Great! Pud, I will congratulate you about this great support team.
4. With Google adsense you can not sell Ad space in your site, but with Adbrite you can create your own Price and Packages. Also adbrite provide you with Network ads (as Google adsense).
5. Google adsense pay monthly, Adbrite pay 60-days.

10 Ways to ensure that your account won't be disabled

Above all, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the AdSense program policies and ensure that all sites on which you display Google ads remain in full compliance with these policies.

1.Don't click on your own Google ads.

Clicking on Google ads on your own site for any reason is strictly prohibited. If you'd like more information about one of the advertisers appearing on your site, please type the URL of the ad directly into your browser's address bar, or use the AdSense preview tool.

2.Don't ask others to click on Google ads. (invalid click)

Users should click on Google ads because they're interested in the services being advertised. Encouraging users to click on your Google ads, either directly or indirectly, can lead to inflated advertiser costs and can cause your account to be disabled.

3.Don't employ pop-up prompts or automatic software installations.

Google is dedicated to improving the user experience on the Internet, and promoting responsible software principles is part of that effort. Sites showing Google ads may not prompt users to install software on their machines. Publishers must also not attempt to change users' browser home pages automatically or via pop-up prompts.

4.Be aware of how your site is promoted.

Pages showing Google ads may never be loaded in an unrequested pop-up. This means publishers need to be very careful when purchasing traffic or setting up ad campaigns with third parties. Before contracting with any ad network, you should ensure that they will never display your site in pop-ups or as a result of the actions of any software application.

Please make sure your site doesn't deceive your users in any way. 9.Provide a good environment for advertisers.

Sites showing Google ads should not present a poor opportunity for advertisers. Sites that use tricks or deceptive practices in order to trigger inadvertent clicks on ads are prohibited.

10.Be responsive.
